PhD Qualifying Exam Information

Exam Format and Problem Areas

The PhD Qualifying Exam consists of two sessions held on consecutive days. Each session lasts for four hours. A total of 13 problems are given at each session. The student can choose any 8 of the 13 problems per session to be graded.

The problem areas and background courses from which the problems are drawn are:
